" Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
"Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous and Fabulous?"
Actually who are you not to be?
You are a child of the Universe.
You're playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the Glory of the Spirit that is within us.
It's in Everyone,
and as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the Same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others."
-Nelson Mandella
I pray that I will be able to face the fear of inadequacy, that I may enlighten others and be a diligent leader, and true disciple of Christ. All too often I feel embarrassed to speak up and lead. I used to not be like that. When I have my moments of leadership and befriending, when I am not afraid to speak, I feel true joy. I want to diligently seek that feeling again. I look forward to the day that we may all lift each other to a level of becoming instead of belittling.
